columbia County Council on the Arts

Join the Columbia County Council on the Arts and enjoy the following opportunities:

1) Are you a visual artist? Your annual membership donation includes participation in our gallery at 209 Warren Street, as well as our annual Juried Art Show (March), Artswalk 2007 (October), and other events such as our annual Studio Tour (May) and the Rider's Mills Schoolhouse Fence Show (September). Your work in the form of slides, prints and bio/ artist statement is housed in our office artist registry. In addition, we are beginning to work on the development of our website registry through Gallery Driver, which will be a comprehensive reference of all our artists and arts organizations in Columbia County.

2) Are you a performing artist or literary artist? Opportunities are available through our growing Performing Arts Committee. Artswalk has grown exponentially thanks to the addition of performance programs. Readings are sponsored by the CCCA at local restaurants and in our gallery. Our shows are sometimes not limited to visual artists: we give our literary artists the opportunity to sell books at our bazaars and open air events.

3) Arts project grants for not for profit organizations, arts organizations, municipalities, churches, fraternal organizations, and parent/teacher organizations, are available through the CCCA with funding by NYSCA'S Decentralization Program and the Columbia County Board of Supervisors.

4) Notification of CCCA sponsored events, programs, and performances, and discounts on tickets for members all are advantages to join. Free subscription to Arts Alive!, the Columbia and Greene Counties Arts Councils' bi-monthly newsletter, also downloadable on our website in pdf format.

5) The development of an attractive membership discount program on area retailers, restaurants and services.

6) Low cost group health and disability insurance through our reciprocal program with Greene County Council on the Arts.
