Wabi-Sabi: Art that reveals beauty in imperfection. Art that celebrates cracks and crevices and the marks of time. Art that uncovers an undeclared beauty, a simple aesthetic, a fragmentary glimpse in the mirror.

6. Jeanne Crane Strausman - Patchwork
Jeanne Strausman is a textile and paper collagist working in her studio in Greenville, NY. Beginning as a quilter, she evoved into collage through her inerests in American History and Immigration, as well as in women's issues. She contributed a chair to last year's CCCA fundraiser and says of this year's project that her quiltmaking background lent itselt the the "squareness" of the mirror frame. The "log cabin", and courthouse steps", traditional quilt block designs, adapted themselves to her cache of Victorian fabric remnants. |

7. Nancy Rutter - Flowers |

9. Joan Damiani - Smoky One with Latin saying "Remember How Swiftly Everything Passes"
This piece was enhanced with layers of paint, a latin admonition "Remember, everything passes swiftly", two Polaroid emulsion lifts to reflect transparency and absolute time. The challenge in creating the transparent effect was placing the delicate tissue like emulsion on a rigid surface, in this case, wood and glass. |

Green Abstract
It started with a linoleum block which I cut while instructing one of my art students this summer. It was no surprise to find I carved linear motifs and squares within squares, which is my signature as a painter. The under-painting of the frame is meant to compliment the distressed wood. The design is the repeated print from my linoleum block, and the final finish is done with pastels, acrylics, and a triple layer of varnish. |

14. Lee Musselman -
